Workshop Description:

Invented in 1842, the cyanotype process uses iron based chemistry, relies on sunlight to create an image and water to develop the beautiful Prussian Blue photographs. This 3 hour workshop is an introduction to the cyanotype process and will include its history, the process, and the fundamentals of making these prints. We will work with objects (flowers, botanicals, seaweeds, ) and you are welcome to bring small objects from home to experiment with. Each participant will create their own unique cyanotypes to bring home with them and will have the knowledge to keep making more!

Location:

Westerly Camera & Darkroom is an amazing resource in our community. Run by Mark, the fixer of all things camera and motorcycle, the space has all you need for traditional darkroom printing and every camera you should ever want. They offer camera and darkroom rentals, photo lessons, cameras of all sizes, and various films and is one of my favorite places in town!
