Cephalopods (squid, octopus, and cuttlefish) spend the majority of their lives hiding and disguising into their environments. They are some of the most beautiful creatures on earth yet their beauty is concealed to the dark and are very rarely seen by humans. Whats fascinates me most about cephalopods is their individualized defense mechanisms. Changing and manipulating their skin, they are able to absorb into their surroundings. My photographs are created from documentaries I have been watching to learn more about the species. Hypnotized by their skin, I focus on their ability transform in order to protect themselves. These abstractions invite a brief viewing into their world, a world full of controlled metamorphosis in constant flux.
